Oh, man. Today has been frustrating. Between being at my friends' house extremely late last night plus the annoying Daylight Savings Time change, I managed to sleep till 1:30 pm and never really got on track today. It's not like I've just sat here for 8 hours and stared into space, but I had a hard time focusing on anything and really haven't accomplished much.

And of course, rather than get up and accomplish something before it's time for bed, I decided to do a 20 Questions meme that [profile] croakvegas tagged me with.

Here's the deal: People who have been tagged post their answers and replace any question they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves. Tag 8 people. Those who are tagged cannot refuse unless they have already been tagged from someone else for THE SAME MEME (well, I'm saying you can refuse if you really don't want to do it). These 8 people must state who they were tagged by. You cannot tag the person who tagged you.

1. You win 1000 dollars - what do you do with it?
Hello, Amazon.com!

2. What is your most guilty pleasure?
I don't really have one right now, strangely enough.

3. What is your favorite precipitation?
Definitely snow. It doesn’t soak you through like rain does, and it’s so pretty. And of course, since December, we haven’t really gotten much.

4. What is your biggest unfulfilled dream?
Going to England. A few years ago, a friend and I started to plan out a trip, but it fell apart because she just wanted to stay in London and I wanted to get out into the countryside and hike and visit 1000 year old churches.

5. What was the last movie you saw, for pleasure, and would you recommend it?
The last movie I watched, I am embarrassed to admit, was EuroTrip. This gets re-watched fairly frequently by my friends and I, almost as often as SuperTroopers. And yes, I would recommend it – the first time I saw it, I expected it to absolutely suck, but I laughed hysterically. (One warning: the song “Scotty Doesn’t Know” will stick in your head for weeks.)

6. Superman or Batman?
Batman. Superman is too Boy Scouty.

7. If the person you like does not accept you, would you continue to wait for them to change their feelings?
No. Besides, if someone doesn’t like me, sooner or later I’ll stop liking them - it's really hard to stay worked up over someone who looks at me and goes "meh".

8. Do you/did you want a wedding and if so, big or small?
I wouldn’t mind a small wedding. Actually, I think Las Vegas would be a fun time: have a silly quick ceremony, and then the guests can go to shows or gamble while my friends and new husband and I cruise around drinking in a limo. I just cannot stand all the planning that goes on – a friend of mine is getting married and a mutual friend was worried I’d be mad that she was invited to be in the wedding but I wasn’t, and I was like…HELL NO. I was a bridesmaid once under duress…I hope I never have to be, again.

9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy recently?
It appears that we may have chosen poorly when we picked our new boss out, at work. Let’s just say…after only two months, we’ve come to realize that it’s as if this person was created by fusing the worst personality traits of Sylar and Matt Parkman together in one body.

10. If you could bring one law in what would it be and why?
Mandatory sterilization for people convicted of abusing their kids. I used to work in the juvenile court system and…man. There are some instances where I’d be willing to make an exception, but if you are 28 years old and threw your 2-month-old baby on the floor so hard that she had bleeding in the brain, and after throwing her down you just let her lay there and have seizures, and then when your girlfriend came home from work, you lied and said the baby accidentally rolled off the couch but seemed fine at the time, and you continued lying even after the hospital discovered half-healed stress fractures that show she must have been abused almost from birth…no. You should not be given the chance to produce more helpless kids to terrorize like that.

11. If you could choose a line of work other than the one you're in, what would it be?
I have absolutely no idea, and this is a problem. I ended up in my current job almost by accident – the previous manager left and recommended that they promote me and train me on-the-job. The thing is…I’m beginning to get bored. We’re hoping that within 3 years, we’ll have FDA approval, and I’m finding myself thinking that I need to stay until that happens. But I have no idea what else I would do, at this point. Perhaps it is time to find a rich old guy with one foot in the grave to marry.

12. Thunderstorms - cool or scary?
COOL AS HELL. I would love to spend a summer in the Dakotas, to be able to see them rolling across the landscape. It was so dry here last year, we didn’t have many. The one truly terrifying one that came through around 10:30 pm one evening, I closed the windows on the porch and sat out there for 45 minutes. The thunder was so intense, the floorboards were shaking under my feet. It was GREAT. Okay, now I am ready for it to be summer.

13. Clinton, Obama, or McCain?
It’s really bad, but I am completely unenthused about all of the candidates right now. Why doesn’t Marcy Kaptur run for president? I’d vote for her.

14. Would you rather be a really good person or a really interesting person?
Forced to choose only one, I’d go with interesting.

15. What do you think of capital punishment?
I’d probably have to go with “anti”, just because there are a disturbing number of death row inmates in the US who have been exonerated in the last decade, which means there have to be people who’ve been executed who were innocent. I can’t imagine having a DA contact me to tell me that they executed the wrong guy for killing someone I loved, and that the real killer has been laughing at us for years because he was getting away with murder.

16. Which fictional character could you most see yourself marrying?
Is this a question to take seriously? As in, should I really consider what fictional character has qualities that, if he were real, would make a good husband? Or should I just say “Hell yeah, who wouldn’t want to wake up next to Mohinder Suresh every morning”? Actually, I guess Mohinder would fit the first question, too. He’s one of my favorite characters because he does have a number of personality traits that I have, he’s incredibly intelligent (a must for me, in men), and his pursuit of his father’s crazy theories means he’d have to be tolerant of my crazy hobbies, too. And he’d travel often, so I’d get plenty of time for myself.  Bonus: frequent sightings of Sylar and his hot spiky hair and all-black wardrobe!  (Oops.  I should have warned you that I was about to detour into crack, there.)

17. Hugs or kisses?
Kisses.

18. Do you have a motto? If yes which one?
Not really.

19. What type of friends do you have?
Geeky ones. And I love them all. I couldn’t hang out with boring humdrum people.

20. What place most speaks to you?
Weirdly, Toronto. It’s the only place I’ve ever visited that grabbed hold of me the instant I arrived. I haven’t been able to visit it in several years, but I used to go every 5-6 months for a long weekend, and just loved riding the streetcars around and watching the urban landscape.

Um...man, I would tag people, except that in my current state of mind (tired despite sleeping late, with a burgeoning headache) it would take me half an hour to decide who to tag. So! Flist, get together and decide which 8 of you will shoulder the burden of continuing this meme and spreading it onward throughout the internet world.

Also...seriously, isn't the name "Aurelien Rougerie" just sexy as hell? Saying it feels like having honey rolling across your tongue. It's kind of like the name "Sendhil Ramamurthy"...say it slowly and listen to it, and you just know the owner of that beautiful name must be equally beautiful himself.
